Our Story

We're Sam and Jessie — parents to Sofia (the namesake) and Bohdi, and the people behind the counter at Sofia's Spot.

Nearly seven years ago we swapped the corporate world for the coast, packed up and moved to Clifton Springs. Best decision we ever made. A few years later, an opportunity came up to buy a little $2 shop in Drysdale that needed a whole lot of love. We saw something in it — a chance to bring really great brands into our local community instead of everyone driving into Geelong for things they should be able to find right here.

That little shop has come a long way. We've spent years figuring out what our community actually wants, renovating, tweaking, and honestly — we're still not done. From homewares and candles to fashion, gifts, baby and kids, we've built a collection of brands we genuinely believe in. If it's on our shelves, it's because we'd buy it ourselves.

What we didn't expect was how much this place would give back to us. Our staff Michelle and Mandy have become family. Our regulars feel like friends. The Drysdale community goes above and beyond to support local and support small, and we never take that for granted.

Sofia's Spot exists because we believe our little suburb deserves great things without having to leave it. We're proud of what we've built, grateful for everyone who's been part of the journey, and excited about where it takes us next.
